Endodontic Treatment

Endodontic treatment or root canal therapy is a treatment that is widely employed to save severely infected or damaged tooth which would previously have required extraction. Although many dentists do not perform endodontic treatment and prefer to refer to a specialist, our dentists at Waiuku Dental Centre are well revered in this treatment with extensive experience in executing it with precision and quality in an efficient and comfortable manner.

Endodontic treatment involves treating infection which effects the pulp or ‘root’ of the tooth. It is within this segment of the tooth that all the nerve tissue and nutrients are housed which help with the development and growth of the tooth. This is why infection in this area is notoriously painful when left untreated.

We have included below some situations which may indicated the necessity for root canal therapy:

  •  Deep tooth decay
  •  Experiencing sensitivity to hot and cold food or drinks
  •  Sever and spontaneous pain or throbbing when eating, drinking or clenching
  •  Trauma which has resulted in an abscess or infection

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, contact our caring team at Waiuku Dental Centre in Waiuku to arrange a consultation.
